The Solar Neighborhood XXXII. The Hydrogen Burning Limit
Sergio B. Dieterich, Todd J. Henry, Wei-Chun Jao +4
We construct a Hertzsprung-Russell diagram for the stellar/substellar boundary based on a sample of 63 objects ranging in spectral type from M6V to L4. We report newly observed VRI…
The Closest M-Dwarf Quadruple System to the Sun
Cassy L. Davison, Russel J. White, Wei-Chun Jao +8
We report new infrared radial velocity measurements obtained with CSHELL at NASA's Infrared Telescope Facility that reveal the M3.5 dwarf GJ 867B to be a single-lined spectroscopic…
The Solar Neighborhood XXXI: Discovery of an Unusual Red+White Dwarf Binary at ~25 Parsecs via Astrometry and UV Imaging
Wei-Chun Jao, Todd J. Henry, John P. Subasavage +4
We report the discovery of a nearby M5.0V dwarf at 24.6 pc, SCR 1848-6855, that is orbited by an unusual companion causing an astrometric perturbation of more than 200 milli-arcsec…
The Solar Neighborhood XXX: Fomalhaut C
Eric E. Mamajek, Jennifer L. Bartlett, Andreas Seifahrt +11
LP 876-10 is a nearby active M4 dwarf in Aquarius at a distance of 7.6 pc. The star is a new addition to the 10-pc census, with a parallax measured via the Research Consortium on N…
