Scattering linear polarization of late-type active stars
T. M. Yakobchuk, S. V. Berdyugina
Many active stars are covered in spots, much more so than the Sun, as indicated by spectroscopic and photometric observations. It has been predicted that star spots induce non-zero…
Polarization in exoplanetary systems caused by transits, grazing transits, and starspots
N. M. Kostogryz, T. M. Yakobchuk, S. V. Berdyugina
We present results of numerical simulations of flux and linear polarization variations in transiting exoplanetary systems, caused by the host star disk symmetry breaking. We consid…
Transit polarimetry of exoplanetary system HD189733
N. M. Kostogryz, S. V. Berdyugina, T. M Yakobchuk
We present and discuss a polarimetric effect caused by a planet transiting the stellar disk thus breaking the symmetry of the light distribution and resulting in linear polarizatio…
A spectral differential approach to characterizing low-mass companions to late-type stars
N. M. Kostogryz, M. Kuerster, T. M. Yakobchuk +2
In this paper, we develop a spectral differential technique with which the dynamical mass of low-mass companions can be found. This method aims at discovering close companions to l…
