Rapid TeV Gamma-Ray Flaring of BL Lacertae
T. Arlen, T. Aune, M. Beilicke +83
We report on the detection of a very rapid TeV gamma-ray flare from BL Lacertae on 2011 June 28 with the Very Energetic Radiation Imaging Telescope Array System (VERITAS). The flar…
Multiwavelength Variations of 3C 454.3 during the November 2010 to January 2011 Outburst
Ann E. Wehrle, Alan P. Marscher, Svetlana G. Jorstad +6
We present multiwavelength data of the blazar 3C 454.3 obtained during an extremely bright outburst from November 2010 through January 2011. These include flux density measurements…
Parsec-Scale Jet Behavior of the Quasar 3C 454.3 during the High Gamma-Ray States in 2009 and 2010
S. G. Jorstad, A. P. Marscher, M. Joshi +7
We analyze total and polarized intensity images of the quasar 3C 454.3 obtained monthly with the VLBA at 43 GHz within the ongoing Boston U. monitoring program of gamma-ray blazars…
Relation between Events in the Millimeter-wave Core and Gamma-ray Outbursts in Blazar Jets
A. P. Marscher, S. G. Jorstad, I. Agudo +2
Analysis of comprehensive monitoring of 34 gamma-ray bright quasars, BL Lac objects, and radio galaxies reveals a close connection between events in the millimeter-wave emission im…
