Why the Northern Hemisphere Needs a 30-40m Telescope and the Science at Stake: Shaping Galaxies and Their Stars with Stellar Population Gradients, IMF Variations and Environmental Drivers in Cluster Early-Type Galaxies
A. Vazdekis, P. Sánchez-Blázquez, A. Ferré-Mateu +23
This white paper highlights how stellar population gradients, chemical abundance patterns, stellar initial mass function (IMF) variations, and structural signatures in early-type g…
The effect of mass and morphology on the mass assembly of galaxies
A. Camps-Fariña, R. M. Mérida, P. Sánchez Blázquez +1
The pace at which galaxies grew into their current stellar masses and how this growth is regulated is still not fully understood, nor is the role that morphology plays in this proc…
Sub-Gyr variability around the SFMS and its contribution to the scatter
A. Camps-Fariña, M. Chamorro-Cazorla, S. F. Sánchez
We aim to measure the evolution of individual galaxies around the Star Formation Main Sequence (SFMS) during the last Gyr as a function of their stellar mass to quantify how much o…
MEGADES: MEGARA galaxy disc evolution survey. Ionised gas diagnosis
M. Chamorro-Cazorla, A. Gil de Paz, A. Castillo-Morales +13
We present the ionised gas properties and metallicity gradients of 43 galaxies observed by the MEGADES survey. Using the MEGARA (Multi-Espectrografo en GTC de Alta Resolucion para…
