QueueTrack: Framework for Detecting the Onset of Queueing in Mobile Networks
Hamid Hassani, Anudeep Karnam, Kishor Joshi +3
In mobile networks, timely and accurate detection of the onset of queueing at path bottlenecks remains challenging for end-to-end congestion control algorithms (CCAs), where end ho…
PRISM: RL-Based Rate Control for Low Latency and High Data Rate in Mobile Edge Networks
Hamid Hassani, Staji Wilson, Kishor C. Joshi +3
Emerging delay-sensitive interactive services, such as extended reality and remote operation, demand advanced congestion control algorithms (CCAs) capable of maintaining high data…
Discrete Time Credit-Based Shaping for Time-Sensitive Applications in 5G/6G Networks
Anudeep Karnam, Kishor C. Joshi, Jobish John +3
Future wireless networks must deliver deterministic end-to-end delays for workloads such as smart-factory control loops. On Ethernet these guarantees are delivered by the set of to…
Reliability Modeling for Beyond-5G Mission Critical Networks Using Effective Capacity
Anudeep Karnam, Jobish John, Kishor C. Joshi +3
Accurate reliability modeling for ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) and hyper-reliable low latency communication (HRLLC) networks is challenging due to the complex i…
Adaptive Beamwidth Selection for Contention Based Access Periods in Millimeter Wave WLANs
Kishor Chandra, R. Venkatesha Prasad, I. G. M. M. Niemegeers +1
60GHz wireless local area networks (WLANs) standards (e.g., IEEE 802.11ad and IEEE 802.15.3c) employ hybrid MAC protocols consisting of contention based access using CSMA/CA as wel…
Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.11ad MAC Protocol
Kishor Chandra, R. Venkatesha Prasad, Ignas Niemegeers
IEEE 802.11ad specifies a hybrid medium access control (MAC) protocol consisting of contention as well as noncontention-based channel access mechanisms. Further, it also employs di…
CogCell: Cognitive Interplay between 60GHz Picocells and 2.4/5GHz Hotspots in the 5G Era
Kishor Chandra, R. Venkatesha Prasad, Bien Quang +1
Rapid proliferation of wireless communication devices and the emergence of a variety of new applications have triggered investigations into next-generation mobile broadband systems…
60 GHz MAC Standardization: Progress and Way Forward
Kishor Chandra, Arjan Doff, Zizheng Cao +2
Communication at mmWave frequencies has been the focus in the recent years. In this paper, we discuss standardization efforts in 60 GHz short range communication and the progress t…
