A multiwavelength study of the Galactic center black hole candidate MAXI J1744-294
Shifra Mandel, Kaya Mori, Paul A. Draghis +37
For the first time in nearly a decade, a bright transient was detected in the central parsec (pc) of the Galaxy. MAXI J1744-294, or -- as it was known in its previous life -- Swift…
Estimating Magnetic Filling Factors From Simultaneous Spectroscopy and Photometry: Disentangling Spots, Plage, and Network
T. W. Milbourne, D. F. Phillips, N. Langellier +21
State of the art radial velocity (RV) exoplanet searches are limited by the effects of stellar magnetic activity. Magnetically active spots, plage, and network regions each have di…
Swift-XRT follow-up of gravitational wave triggers during the third aLIGO/Virgo observing run
K. L. Page, P. A. Evans, A. Tohuvavohu +41
The Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory followed up 18 gravitational wave (GW) triggers from the LIGO/Virgo collaboration during the O3 observing run in 2019/2020, performing approximat…
Distorted cyclotron line profile in Cep X-4 as observed by NuSTAR
F. Fuerst, K. Pottschmidt, H. Miyasaka +16
We present spectral analysis of NuSTAR and Swift observations of Cep X-4 during its outburst in 2014. We observed the source once during the peak of the outburst and once during th…
