Quieting a noisy antenna reproduces photosynthetic light harvesting spectra
Trevor B. Arp, Jed Kistner-Morris, Vivek Aji +3
Photosynthesis is remarkable, achieving near unity light harvesting quantum efficiency in spite of dynamic light conditions and noisy physiological environment. Under these adverse…
Chiral transport and electronic correlations in surface states of HfNiSn single crystals
L. Steinke, J. J. Kistner-Morris, T. F. Lovorn +9
In most topological insulators, the valence and conduction band appear in reverse or inverted order compared to an equivalent insulator with isolated atoms. Here, we explore a diff…
CaMnSb: Spin waves on a frustrated antiferromagnetic honeycomb lattice
D. E. McNally, J. W. Simonson, J. J. Kistner-Morris +6
We present inelastic neutron scattering measurements of the antiferromagnetic insulator CaMnSb, which consists of corrugated honeycomb layers of Mn. The dispersion of magne…
CaMnAl: itinerant Mn magnetism on the verge of ferromagnetic order
Lucia Steinke, Jack W. Simonson, W. -G. Yin +5
We report the discovery of \CMA, a metal with strong magnetic anisotropy and moderate electronic correlations. Magnetization measurements find a Curie-Weiss moment of $0.83\,\mathr…
