Proper Motions and Orbits of Distant Local Group Dwarf Galaxies from a combination of Gaia and Hubble Data
Paul Bennet, Ekta Patel, Sangmo Tony Sohn +12
We have determined the proper motions (PMs) of 12 dwarf galaxies in the Local Group (LG), ranging from the outer Milky Way (MW) halo to the edge of the LG. We used HST as the first…
The spatially resolved star formation history of the dwarf spiral galaxy NGC 5474
G. Bortolini, M. Cignoni, E. Sacchi +16
We study the resolved stellar populations and derive the star formation history of NGC 5474, a peculiar star-forming dwarf galaxy at a distance of Mpc, using Hubble Space…
The Impact of Patchy Reionization on Ultra-faint Dwarf Galaxies
Jaeeun Kim, Myoungwon Jeon, Yumi Choi +3
We investigate how patchy reionization affects the star formation history (SFH) and stellar metallicity of ultra-faint dwarf galaxies (UFDs). Patchy reionization refers to varying…
Constraining the LyC escape fraction from LEGUS star clusters with SIGNALS HII region observations: A pilot study of NGC 628
J. W. Teh, K. Grasha, M. R. Krumholz +23
The ionising radiation of young and massive stars is a crucial form of stellar feedback. Most ionising (Lyman-continuum; LyC, ) photons are absorbed close to the stars tha…
