Probing the role of the galactic environment in the formation of stellar clusters; using M83 as a test bench
Angela Adamo, Diederik Kruijssen, Nate Bastian +2
We present a study of the M83 cluster population, covering the disc of the galaxy between radii of 0.45 and 4.5 kpc. We aim to probe the properties of the cluster population as a f…
Sizes and Shapes of Young Star Cluster Light Profiles in M83
Jenna E. Ryon, Nate Bastian, Angela Adamo +6
We measure the radii and two-dimensional light profiles of a large sample of young, massive star clusters in M83 using archival HST/WFC3 imaging of seven adjacent fields. We use GA…
Studying the YMC population of M83: how long clusters remain embedded, their interaction with the ISM and implications for GC formation theories
Katherine Hollyhead, Nate Bastian, Angela Adamo +4
The study of young massive clusters can provide key information for the formation of globular clusters, as they are often considered analogues. A currently unanswered question in t…
No Evidence for Significant Age Spreads in Young Massive LMC Clusters
Florian Niederhofer, Michael Hilker, Nate Bastian +1
Recent discoveries have put the picture of stellar clusters being simple stellar populations into question. In particular, the color-magnitude diagrams of intermediate age (1-2 Gyr…
