A Model of White Dwarf Pulsar AR Scorpii
Jin-Jun Geng, Bing Zhang, Yong-Feng Huang
A 3.56-hour white dwarf (WD) - M dwarf (MD) close binary system, AR Scorpii, was recently reported to show pulsating emission in radio, IR, optical, and UV, with a 1.97-minute peri…
Propagation of Relativistic, Hydrodynamic, Intermittent Jets in a Rotating, Collapsing GRB Progenitor Star
Jin-Jun Geng, Bing Zhang, Rolf Kuiper
The prompt emission of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) is characterized by rapid variabilities, which may be a direct reflection of the unsteady central engine. We perform a series of axis…
Imprints of Electron-positron Winds on the Multi-wavelength Afterglows of Gamma-ray Bursts
J. J. Geng, X. F. Wu, Y. F. Huang +2
Optical re-brightenings in the afterglows of some gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are unexpected within the framework of the simple external shock model. While it has been suggested that t…
Diverse Features of the Multi-wavelength Afterglows of Gamma-ray Bursts: Natural or Special?
J. J. Geng, Y. F. Huang
The detection of optical re-brightenings and X-ray plateaus in the afterglows of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) challenges the generic external shock model. Recently, we have developed a…
