SpotTune: Leveraging Transient Resources for Cost-efficient Hyper-parameter Tuning in the Public Cloud
Yan Li, Bo An, Junming Ma +3
Hyper-parameter tuning (HPT) is crucial for many machine learning (ML) algorithms. But due to the large searching space, HPT is usually time-consuming and resource-intensive. Nowad…
CrowdExpress: A Probabilistic Framework for On-Time Crowdsourced Package Deliveries
Chao Chen, Sen Yang, Weichen Liu +3
Speed and cost of logistics are two major concerns to on-line shoppers, but they generally conflict with each other in nature. To alleviate the contradiction, we propose to exploit…
Cell Selection with Deep Reinforcement Learning in Sparse Mobile Crowdsensing
Leye Wang, Wenbin Liu, Daqing Zhang +3
Sparse Mobile CrowdSensing (MCS) is a novel MCS paradigm where data inference is incorporated into the MCS process for reducing sensing costs while its quality is guaranteed. Since…
Anti-Fall: A Non-intrusive and Real-time Fall Detector Leveraging CSI from Commodity WiFi Devices
Daqing Zhang, Hao Wang, Yasha Wang +1
Fall is one of the major health threats and obstacles to independent living for elders, timely and reliable fall detection is crucial for mitigating the effects of falls. In this p…
