The Central Velocity Field in NGC 253 : Possible Indication of a Bar
Mousumi Das, K. R. Anantharamaiah, M. S. Yun
We have investigated whether motion of gas in a bar-like potential can account for the peculiar but systematic velocity field observed in the nuclear region of the starburst galaxy…
Search for radio recombination lines towards the gravitational lens PKS 1830-211
Niruj R. Mohan, K. R. Anantharamaiah, W. M. Goss
A search for radio recombination lines near 20 cm at z=0.193 and z=0.886 towards the gravitational lens system PKS 1830-211 has yielded upper limits on the line optical depth of 5…
Radio recombination lines from starburst galaxies : high and low density ionized gas
Niruj R. Mohan, K. R. Anantharamaiah, W. M. Goss
Radio recombination lines (RRL) at 8 GHz and 15 GHz detected from four starburst galaxies are shown to arise in compact high density HII regions, which are undetectable below ~4 GH…
Starburst in the Ultra-luminous Galaxy Arp 220 - Constraints from Observations of Radio Recombination Lines and Continuum
K. R. Anantharamaiah, F. Viallefond, Niruj R. Mohan +2
We present observations of radio recombination lines from the starburst galaxy Arp 220 at 1.4, 8.1, 84, 96 and 207 GHz (sensitive upper limit for the 1.4 GHz line and firm detectio…
