Self-absorption in [CII], CO, and HI in RCW120. Building up a geometrical and physical model of the region
S. Kabanovic, N. Schneider, V. Ossenkopf-Okada +19
Revealing the 3D dynamics of HII regions and their associated molecular clouds is important for understanding the longstanding problem as to how stellar feedback affects the densit…
The "Maggie" filament: Physical properties of a giant atomic cloud
J. Syed, J. D. Soler, H. Beuther +19
The atomic phase of the interstellar medium plays a key role in the formation process of molecular clouds. Due to the line-of-sight confusion in the Galactic plane that is associat…
Stellar feedback and triggered star formation in the prototypical bubble RCW 120
Matteo Luisi, Loren D. Anderson, Nicola Schneider +17
Radiative and mechanical feedback of massive stars regulates star formation and galaxy evolution. Positive feedback triggers the creation of new stars by collecting dense shells of…
SOFIA FEEDBACK survey: exploring the dynamics of the stellar wind driven shell of RCW 49
M. Tiwari, R. Karim, M. W. Pound +13
We unveil the stellar wind driven shell of the luminous massive star-forming region of RCW 49 using SOFIA FEEDBACK observations of the [CII] 158 m line. The complementary datase…
