The Limitations of Optical Spectroscopic Diagnostics in Identifying AGNs in the Low Mass Regime
Jenna M. Cann, Shobita Satyapal, Nicholas P. Abel +4
Intermediate-mass black holes (IMBHs) with masses between are crucial to our understanding of black hole seed formation and are the prime targets for LISA, ye…
Modeling ionized gas in low-metallicity environments: the Local Group dwarf galaxy IC10
F. L. Polles, S. C. Madden, V. Lebouteiller +9
Our objective is to investigate the physical properties of the ionised gas of the low-metallicity dwarf galaxy, IC 10, at various spatial scales: from individual HII regions to the…
The Hunt for Intermediate Mass Black Holes in the JWST Era
Jenna M. Cann, Shobita Satyapal, Nicholas P. Abel +4
Intermediate mass black holes (IMBHs), with masses between 100 to 10^5 M_\odot, represent the link between stellar mass black holes and the supermassive black holes that reside in…
Star Forming Galaxies as AGN Imposters? A Theoretical Investigation of the Mid-infrared Colors of AGNs and Extreme Starbursts
Shobita Satyapal, Nicholas P. Abel, Nathan J. Secrest
We conduct for the first time a theoretical investigation of the mid-infrared spectral energy distribution (SED) produced by dust heated by an active galactic nucleus (AGN) and an…
