Resolved Profiles of Stellar Mass, Star Formation Rate, and Predicted CO-to-H Conversion Factor Across Thousands of Local Galaxies
Jiayi Sun, Yu-Hsuan Teng, I-Da Chiang +9
We present radial profiles of surface brightness in UV and IR bands, estimate stellar mass surface density () and star formation rate surface density (), a…
The PHANGS-HST-Halpha Survey: Warm Ionized Gas Physics at High Angular resolution in Nearby GalaxieS with the Hubble Space Telescope
Rupali Chandar, Ashley T. Barnes, David A. Thilker +36
The PHANGS project is assembling a comprehensive, multi-wavelength dataset of nearby (~5-20 Mpc), massive star-forming galaxies to enable multi-phase, multi-scale investigations in…
Cloud-scale gas properties, depletion times, and star formation efficiency per free-fall time in PHANGS--ALMA
Adam K. Leroy, Jiayi Sun, Sharon Meidt +31
We compare measurements of star formation efficiency to cloud-scale gas properties across PHANGS-ALMA. Dividing 67 galaxies into 1.5 kpc scale regions, we calculate the molecular g…
VERTICO III: The Kennicutt-Schmidt relation in Virgo cluster galaxies
M. J. Jiménez-Donaire, T. Brown, C. D. Wilson +19
In this VERTICO science paper we aim to study how the star formation process depends on galactic environment and gravitational interactions in the context of galaxy evolution. We e…
