Heterogeneous Cellular Networks with LoS and NLoS Transmissions--The Role of Massive MIMO and Small Cells
Qi Zhang, Howard H. Yang, Tony Q. S. Quek +1
We develop a framework for downlink heterogeneous cellular networks with line-of-sight (LoS) and non-line-of-sight (NLoS) transmissions. Using stochastic geometry, we derive tight…
Pilot Power Allocation Through User Grouping in Multi-Cell Massive MIMO Systems
Pei Liu, Shi Jin, Tao Jiang +2
In this paper, we propose a relative channel estimation error (RCEE) metric, and derive closed-form expressions for its expectation and the achievable uplink rat…
Power Allocation Schemes for Multicell Massive MIMO Systems
Qi Zhang, Shi Jin, Matthew McKay +2
This paper investigates the sum-rate gains brought by power allocation strategies in multicell massive multipleinput multiple-output systems, assuming time-division duplex transmis…
Power Scaling of Uplink Massive MIMO Systems with Arbitrary-Rank Channel Means
Qi Zhang, Shi Jin, Kai-Kit Wong +2
This paper investigates the uplink achievable rates of massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna systems in Ricean fading channels, using maximal-ratio combining (MRC)…
