A stable vacuum of the tachyonic E8 string
Simeon Hellerman, Ian Swanson
We consider tachyon condensation in unstable ten-dimensional heterotic string theory with gauge group E8. In the background of a lightlike linear dilaton rolling to weak coupling,…
Supercritical N = 2 string theory
Simeon Hellerman, Ian Swanson
The N=2 string is examined in dimensions above the critical dimension (D=4) in a linear dilaton background. We demonstrate that string states in this background propagate in a sing…
A review of integrable deformations in AdS/CFT
Ian Swanson
Marginal beta deformations of N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory are known to correspond to a certain class of deformations of the S^5 background subspace of type IIB string theory in AdS…
Charting the landscape of supercritical string theory
Simeon Hellerman, Ian Swanson
Special solutions of string theory in supercritical dimensions can interpolate in time between theories with different numbers of spacetime dimensions (via dimension quenching) and…
Cosmic 21-cm Fluctuations as a Probe of Fundamental Physics
Matthew Kleban, Kris Sigurdson, Ian Swanson
Fluctuations in high-redshift cosmic 21-cm radiation provide a new window for observing unconventional effects of high-energy physics in the primordial spectrum of density perturba…
