Precise Quark Mass Dependence of Instanton Determinant
Gerald V. Dunne, Jin Hur, Choonkyu Lee +1
The fermion determinant in an instanton background for a quark field of arbitrary mass is determined exactly using an efficient numerical method to evaluate the determinant of a pa…
Self-duality, helicity and background field loopology
Gerald V. Dunne
I show that helicity plays an important role in the development of rules for computing higher loop effective Lagrangians. Specifically, the two-loop Heisenberg-Euler effective Lagr…
Multiloop Information from the QED Effective Lagrangian
Gerald V. Dunne, Christian Schubert
We obtain information on the QED photon amplitudes at high orders in perturbation theory starting from known results on the QED effective Lagrangian in a constant electric field. A…
Instanton Determinant with Arbitrary Quark Mass: WKB Phase-shift Method and Derivative Expansion
Gerald V. Dunne, Jin Hur, Choonkyu Lee +1
The fermion determinant in an instanton background for a quark field of arbitrary mass is studied using the Schwinger proper-time representation with WKB scattering phase shifts fo…
Heisenberg-Euler Effective Lagrangians : Basics and Extensions
Gerald V. Dunne
I present a pedagogical review of Heisenberg-Euler effective Lagrangians, beginning with the original work of Heisenberg and Euler, and Weisskopf, for the one loop effective action…
