Freezing a Coherent Field Growth in a Cavity by Quantum Zeno Effect
Julien Bernu, Samuel Deléglise, Clément Sayrin +5
We have frozen the coherent evolution of a field in a cavity by repeated measurements of its photon number. We use circular Rydberg atoms dispersively coupled to the cavity mode fo…
Process tomography of field damping and measurement of Fock state lifetimes by quantum non-demolition photon counting in a cavity
M. Brune, J. Bernu, C. Guerlin +7
The relaxation of a quantum field stored in a high- superconducting cavity is monitored by non-resonant Rydberg atoms. The field, subjected to repetitive quantum non-demolition…
Reconstruction of non-classical cavity field states with snapshots of their decoherence
Samuel Deleglise, Igor Dotsenko, Clement Sayrin +4
The state of a microscopic system encodes its complete quantum description, from which the probabilities of all measurement outcomes are inferred. Being a statistical concept, the…
Bose-Einstein condensation on a superconducting atom chip
C. Roux, A. Emmert, A. Lupascu +5
We have produced a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) on an atom chip using only superconducting wires in a cryogenic environment. We observe the onset of condensation for 10^4 atoms a…
