Two-variable zeta functions and regularized products
Christopher Deninger
In this paper we prove a regularized product expansion for the two-variable zeta functions of number fields introduced by van der Geer and Schoof. The proof is based on a general c…
Exchanging the places p and infinity in the Leopoldt conjecture
Christopher Deninger
The Leopoldt conjecture is concerned with the image of the global units in the local units at the primes dividing p. In the definition of the global units the infinite place is dis…
A note on arithmetic topology and dynamical systems
Christopher Deninger
We discuss analogies between the etale site of arithmetic schemes and the algebraic topology of dynamical systems. The emphasis is on Lefschetz numbers. We also discuss similaritie…
On the nature of the "explicit formulas" in analytic number theory - a simple example
Christopher Deninger
We interpret the "explicit formulas" in the sense of analytic number theory for the zeta function of an elliptic curve over a finite field as a transversal index theorem on a 3-dim…
Number theory and dynamical systems on foliated spaces
Christopher Deninger
We discuss analogies between number theory and the theory of dynamical systems on spaces with a one-codimensional foliation. The emphasis is on comparing the "explicit formulas" of…
