Transcending Algebraic Geometry
Carlos Simpson
We give an exposition of some of the ideas leading up to Jacob Tsimerman's groundbreaking work developing the theory of o-minimal definability in arithmetic and algebraic geometry.
Calabi-Yau Threefold Singularities and their Universal Quilts
Elizabeth Gasparim, Carlos Simpson, Bruno Suzuki +1
We introduce the notion of universal quilt for toric CY3 singularities and construct examples when the universal quilts are themselves smooth Calabi-Yau threefolds. Such quilts are…
Torsion of extended Chern-Simons classes for canonical extensions of flat bundles
Jaya NN Iyer, Carlos Simpson
Let be a smooth complex projective variety and a divisor with simple normal crossings. Consider Deligne's canonical extension of a fl…
Regulators of canonical extensions are torsion:the case of two transversally intersecting smooth divisors
Jaya NN Iyer, Carlos Simpson
This note extends the main result of \cite{IS} 2007 --- torsion of the extended Chern--Simons (regulator) classes of the Deligne canonical extension of a flat bundle with unipotent…
Kähler thresholds
Gabriella Clemente, Carlos Simpson
The topology of Kähler manifolds is largely determined by the geometry due to its rigidity. In particular, the cohomology and Hodge theory of compact Kähler manifolds is quite rest…
