A method for localizing energy dissipation in blazars using Fermi variability
Amanda Dotson, Markos Georganopoulos, Demosthenes Kazanas +1
The distance of the Fermi-detected blazar gamma-ray emission site from the supermassive black hole is a matter of active debate. Here we present a method for testing if the GeV emi…
Toward a Unified AGN Structure
Demosthenes Kazanas, Keigo Fukumura, Ehud Behar +2
We present a unified model for the structure and appearance of accretion powered sources across their entire luminosity range from galactic X-ray binaries to luminous quasars, with…
Determining the location of the GeV emission in powerful blazars
Amanda Dotson, Markos Georganopoulos, Demosthenes Kazanas +1
An issue currently under debate in the literature is how far from the black hole is the Fermi-observed GeV emission of powerful blazars emitted. Here we present a diagnostic tool f…
Gamma-Ray Light Curves from Pulsar Magnetospheres with Finite Conductivity
Constantinos Kalapotharakos, Alice K. Harding, Demosthenes Kazanas +1
We investigate the shapes of γ-ray pulsar light curves using 3D pulsar magnetosphere models of finite conductivity. These models, covering the entire spectrum of solutions between…
