On Fractals and Fractional Calculus Motivated by Complex Systems
Awatif M. Shahin, Elsayed Ahmed, Ahmed S. Elgazzar +1
Complex systems (CS) are ubiquitous in nature. It is argued that fractional order (FO) calculus is more suitable to describe fractal systems. Motivated by the fractal space time th…
On Difference Equations Motivated by Modelling the Heart
E. Ahmed, A. S. Hegazi, A. S. Elgazzar
The analytical structure of some generalizations of the circle map is given. Also a generalization of off centre reflection is studied. The stability of Ito-Glass coupled map latti…
An Overview of Complex Adaptive Systems
E. Ahmed, A. S. Elgazzar, A. S. Hegazi
Almost every biological, economic and social system is a complex adaptive system (CAS). Mathematical and computer models are relevant to CAS. Some approaches to modeling CAS are gi…
On complex adaptive systems and terrorism
E. Ahmed, A. S. Elgazzar, A. S. Hegazi
Complex adaptive systems (CAS) are ubiquitous in nature. They are basic in social sciences. An overview of CAS is given with emphasize on the occurrence of bad side effects to seem…
On Persistence and Stability of some Biological Systems with Cross Diffusion
E. Ahmed, A. S. Hegazi, A. S. Elgazzar
The concept of cross diffusion is applied to some biological systems. The conditions for persistence and Turing instability in the presence of cross diffusion are derived. Many exa…
