Molecular Gas in the Powerful Radio Galaxies 3C~31 and 3C~264: Major or Minor Mergers?
J. Lim, S. Leon, F. Combes +1
We report the detection of CO~() and CO~() emission from the central regions (--) of the two powerful radio galaxies 3C~31…
The M 31 double nucleus probed with OASIS and HST. A natural m=1 mode?
R. Bacon, E. Emsellem, F. Combes +3
We present observations with the adaptive optics assisted integral field spectrograph OASIS of the M 31 double nucleus at a spatial resolution better than 0.5 arcsec FWHM. These da…
N-body simulations of self-gravitating gas in stationary fragmented state
B. Semelin, F. Combes
The interstellar medium is observed in a hierarchical fractal structure over several orders of magnitude in scale. Aiming to understand the origin of this structure, we carry out n…
First Detection of Molecular Gas in the Shells of CenA
V. Charmandaris, F. Combes, J. M. van der Hulst
Shells are faint arc-like stellar structures, which have been observed around early type galaxies and are thought to be the result of an interaction. HI gas has recently been detec…
Search for molecular gas in HVCs through HCO+ absorption
F. Combes, V. Charmandaris
High-Velocity Clouds (HVCs) have radial velocities that cannot be explained by the global Galactic rotation; their distances remain mostly unknown, and their true nature and origin…
