Long-lived interacting phases of matter protected by multiple time-translation symmetries in quasiperiodically-driven systems
Dominic V. Else, Wen Wei Ho, Philipp T. Dumitrescu
We show how a large family of interacting nonequilibrium phases of matter can arise from the presence of multiple time-translation symmetries, which occur by quasiperiodically driv…
Long-Range Prethermal Phases of Nonequilibrium Matter
Francisco Machado, Dominic V. Else, Gregory D. Kahanamoku-Meyer +2
We prove the existence of non-equilibrium phases of matter in the prethermal regime of periodically-driven, long-range interacting systems, with power-law exponent , where $d…
Topological theory of Lieb-Schultz-Mattis theorems in quantum spin systems
Dominic V. Else, Ryan Thorngren
The Lieb-Schultz-Mattis (LSM) theorem states that a spin system with translation and spin rotation symmetry and half-integer spin per unit cell does not admit a gapped symmetric gr…
Discrete Time Crystals
Dominic V. Else, Christopher Monroe, Chetan Nayak +1
Experimental advances have allowed for the exploration of nearly isolated quantum many-body systems whose coupling to an external bath is very weak. A particularly interesting clas…
