Reaching the equilibrium state of frustrated triangular Ising magnet Ca3Co2O6
Ivan Nekrashevich, Xiaxin Ding, Fedor Balakirev +5
Ca3Co2O6 is a frustrated magnet consisting of a triangular arrangement of chains of Ising spins. It shows regular magnetization steps vs magnetic field every 1.2 T that are metasta…
Giant magnetostriction and nonsaturating electric polarization up to 60 T in the polar magnet CaBaCo4O7
Yi-Sheng Chai, Jun-Zhuang Cong, Jin-Cheng He +5
Giant magnetostriction in insulating magnetic materials is highly required for applications but is rarely observed. Here we show that giant magnetostriction (> 1500 ppm) can be ach…
Field-tunable toroidal moment in a chiral-lattice magnet
Lei Ding, Xianghan Xu, Harald O. Jeschke +13
A toroidal dipole moment appears independent of the electric and magnetic dipole moment in the multipole expansion of electrodynamics. It arises naturally from vortex-like arrangem…
High magnetic field induced crossover from the Kondo to Fermi liquid behavior in 1-VTe single crystals
Xiaxin Ding, Jie Xing, Gang Li +3
The magnetic and magnetotransport properties of metallic 1-VTe single crystals were investigated at temperatures from 1.3 to 300 K and in magnetic fields up to 35 T. Upon…
