Chemical Cartography with APOGEE: Large-scale Mean Metallicity Maps of the Milky Way
Michael R. Hayden, Jon A. Holtzman, Jo Bovy +27
We present Galactic mean metallicity maps derived from the first year of the SDSS-III APOGEE experiment. Mean abundances in different zones of Galactocentric radius (0 < R < 15 kpc…
Chemodynamics of the Milky Way. I. The first year of APOGEE data
F. Anders, C. Chiappini, B. X. Santiago +38
We investigate the chemo-kinematic properties of the Milky Way disc by exploring the first year of data from the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE), an…
Discovery of a Dynamical Cold Point in the Heart of the Sagittarius dSph Galaxy with Observations from the APOGEE Project
Steven R. Majewski, Sten Hasselquist, Ewa L. Łokas +30
The dynamics of the core of the Sagittarius (Sgr) dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxy are explored using high-resolution (R~22,500), H-band, near-infrared spectra of over 1,000 giant st…
The Open Cluster Chemical Analysis and Mapping Survey: Local Galactic Metallicity Gradient with APOGEE using SDSS DR10
Peter M. Frinchaboy, Benjamin Thompson, Kelly M. Jackson +31
The Open Cluster Chemical Analysis and Mapping (OCCAM) Survey aims to produce a comprehensive, uniform, infrared-based dataset for hundreds of open clusters, and constrain key Gala…
