We prove the theorem converse to Jackson's theorem for a modulus of smoothness of the first order generalised by means of an asymmetric operator of generalised translation.

On monotone Fourier coefficients of a function belonging to Nikol'ski\uı--Besov classes

In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions on terms of monotone Fourier coefficients for a function to belong to a Nikol'ski\uı--Besov type class are given.
