Multivariate Eulerian polynomials and exclusion processes
Petter Brändén, Madeleine Leander, Mirkó Visontai
We give a new combinatorial interpretation of the stationary distribution of the (partially) asymmetric exclusion process on a finite number of sites in terms of decorated alternat…
Some remarks on the joint distribution of descents and inverse descents
Mirkó Visontai
We study the joint distribution of descents and inverse descents over the set of permutations of n letters. Gessel conjectured that the two-variable generating function of this dis…
The $\s$-Eulerian polynomials have only real roots
Carla D. Savage, Mirkó Visontai
We study the roots of generalized Eulerian polynomials via a novel approach. We interpret Eulerian polynomials as the generating polynomials of a statistic over inversion sequences…
Stable multivariate -Eulerian polynomials
Mirkó Visontai, Nathan Williams
We prove a multivariate strengthening of Brenti's result that every root of the Eulerian polynomial of type is real. Our proof combines a refinement of the descent statistic fo…
Proof of the monotone column permanent conjecture
Petter Brändén, James Haglund, Mirkó Visontai +1
Let A be an n-by-n matrix of real numbers which are weakly decreasing down each column, Z_n = diag(z_1,..., z_n) a diagonal matrix of indeterminates, and J_n the n-by-n matrix of a…
