Modelling the Polarisation of Microwave Foreground Emission on Large Angular Scales
C. N. Clark, C. R. Contaldi, C. J. MacTavish
Templates for polarised emission from Galactic foregrounds at frequencies relevant to Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) polarisation experiments are obtained by modelling the Galac…
A Model For Polarised Microwave Foreground Emission From Interstellar Dust
D. T. O'Dea, C. N. Clark, C. R. Contaldi +1
The upcoming generation of cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments face a major challenge in detecting the weak cosmic B-mode signature predicted as a product of primordial g…
SPIDER: Probing the Early Universe with a Suborbital Polarimeter
A. A. Fraisse, P. A. R. Ade, M. Amiri +43
We evaluate the ability of SPIDER, a balloon-borne polarimeter, to detect a divergence-free polarization pattern ("B-modes") in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). In the inflat…
Spider Optimization II: Optical, Magnetic and Foreground Effects
D. T. O'Dea, P. A. R. Ade, M. Amiri +43
Spider is a balloon-borne instrument designed to map the polarization of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) with degree-scale resolution over a large fraction of the sky. Spider…
