Observation of Entangled States of a Fully Controlled 20-Qubit System
Nicolai Friis, Oliver Marty, Christine Maier +8
We generate and characterise entangled states of a register of 20 individually controlled qubits, where each qubit is encoded into the electronic state of a trapped atomic ion. Ent…
Measurements in two bases are sufficient for certifying high-dimensional entanglement
Jessica Bavaresco, Natalia Herrera Valencia, Claude Klöckl +5
High-dimensional encoding of quantum information provides a promising method of transcending current limitations in quantum communication. One of the central challenges in the purs…
Speeding-up the decision making of a learning agent using an ion trap quantum processor
Theeraphot Sriarunothai, Sabine Wölk, Gouri Shankar Giri +4
We report a proof-of-principle experimental demonstration of the quantum speed-up for learning agents utilizing a small-scale quantum information processor based on radiofrequency-…
Precision and Work Fluctuations in Gaussian Battery Charging
Nicolai Friis, Marcus Huber
One of the most fundamental tasks in quantum thermodynamics is extracting energy from one system and subsequently storing this energy in an appropriate battery. Both of these steps…
