A Multi-Instrument Investigation of the Frequency Stability of Oscillations Above the Acoustic Cut-Off Frequency with Solar Activity
K. Kosak, R. Kiefer, A. M. Broomhall
Below the acoustic cut-off frequency, oscillations are trapped within the solar interior and become resonant. However, signatures of oscillations persist above the acoustic cut-off…
2-D and 3-D Models of Convective Turbulence and Oscillations in Intermediate-Mass Main-Sequence Stars
Joyce A. Guzik, T. H. Morgan, N. J. Nelson +5
We present multidimensional modeling of convection and oscillations in main-sequence stars somewhat more massive than the Sun, using three separate approaches: 1) Using the 3-D pla…
Amplitude Variability in gamma Dor and delta Scuti stars observed by the Kepler Spacecraft
Joyce A. Guzik, Katie Kosak, Paul A. Bradley +1
The NASA Kepler spacecraft data revealed a large number of multimode nonradially pulsating gamma Dor and delta Sct variable star candidates. The high precision long time-series pho…
Measurements of the Sun's High Latitude Meridional Circulation
Lisa Rightmire-Upton, David H. Hathaway, Katie Kosak
The meridional circulation at high latitudes is crucial to the build-up and reversal of the Sun's polar magnetic fields. Here we characterize the axisymmetric flows by applying a m…
