Results of the Search for Strange Quark Matter and Q-balls with the SLIM Experiment
S. Cecchini, M. Cozzi, D. Di Ferdinando +23
The SLIM experiment at the Chacaltaya high altitude laboratory was sensitive to nuclearites and Q-balls, which could be present in the cosmic radiation as possible Dark Matter comp…
The treatment and rejection of two "strange" candidate events in the SLIM experiment
S. Balestra, S. Cecchini, M. Cozzi +24
During the analysis of the CR39 Nuclear Track Detectors (NTDs) of the SLIM experiment exposed at the high altitude lab of Chacaltaya (Bolivia) we observed a sequence of puzzling et…
Fragmentation cross sections of Fe^{26+}, Si^{14+} and C^{6+} ions of 0.3-10 A GeV on polyethylene, CR39 and aluminum targets
S. Cecchini, T. Chiarusi, G. Giacomelli +12
We present new measurements of the total and partial fragmentation cross sections in the energy range 0.3-10 A GeV of 56Fe, 28Si and 12C beams on polyethylene, CR39 and aluminum ta…
Magnetic Monopole Search at high altitude with the SLIM experiment
S. Balestra, S. Cecchini, M. Cozzi +23
The SLIM experiment was a large array of nuclear track detectors located at the Chacaltaya high altitude Laboratory (5230 m a.s.l.). The detector was in particular sensitive to Int…
