Nuclear Track Detectors for Environmental Studies and Radiation Monitoring
S. Manzoor, S. Balestra, M. Cozzi +10
Several improvements were made for Nuclear Track Detectors (NTDs) used for environmental studies and for particle searches. A new method was used to determine the bulk etch rate of…
Fragmentation studies of high energy ions using CR39 nuclear track detectors
V. Togo, S. Balestra, S. Cecchini +12
We report on the measurements of the total charge changing fragmentation cross sections in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions using Fe, Si and Pb incident ions. Several stacks…
Nuclear Track Detectors for Particle Searches
S. Manzoor, S. Balestra, M. Cozzi +10
In this paper we report a search for intermediate mass magnetic monopoles and nuclearites using CR39 and Makrofol Nuclear Track Detectors (NTDs) of the SLIM large area experiment,…
Bulk Etch Rate Measurements and Calibrations of Plastic Nuclear Track Detectors
S. Balestra, M. Cozzi, G. Giacomelli +15
New calibrations of CR39 and Makrofol nuclear track detectors have been obtained using 158 A GeV Pb (82+) and In (49+) ions; a new method for the bulk etch rate determination, usin…
