Positive definite -spherical functions, property (T), and -completions of Gelfand pairs
Nadia S. Larsen, Rui Palma
The study of existence of a universal -completion of the -algebra canonically associated to a Hecke pair was initiated by Hall, who proved that the Hecke algebra associate…
Crossed products by Hecke pairs II: C*-completions
Rui Palma
In this second article on crossed products by "actions" of Hecke pairs we study their different C*-completions, namely we show how reduced and full C*-crossed products can be defin…
Crossed products by Hecke pairs I: *-algebraic theory
Rui Palma
We develop a theory of crossed products by "actions" of Hecke pairs , motivated by applications in non-abelian -duality. Our approach gives back the usual crossed prod…
Quasi-symmetric group algebras and C*-completions of Hecke algebras
Rui Palma
We show that for a Hecke pair the -completions and of its Hecke algebra coincide whenever the group algebra satisfies…
On enveloping C*-algebras of Hecke algebras
Rui Palma
We give a sufficient condition for a -algebra with a specified basis to have an enveloping -algebra. Particularizing to the setting of a Hecke algebra $\h(G,\gm)$, we show…
