Algorithms for Joint Phase Estimation and Decoding for MIMO Systems in the Presence of Phase Noise
Rajet Krishnan, Giulio Colavolpe, Alexandre Graell i Amat +1
In this work, we derive the maximum a posteriori (MAP) symbol detector for a multiple-input multiple-output system in the presence of Wiener phase noise due to noisy local oscillat…
Optimal Transmit Filters for ISI Channels under Channel Shortening Detection
Andrea Modenini, Fredrik Rusek, Giulio Colavolpe
We consider channels affected by intersymbol interference with reduced-complexity, mutual information optimized, channel-shortening detection. For such settings, we optimize the tr…
Constellation Optimization in the Presence of Strong Phase Noise
Rajet Krishnan, Alexandre Graell i Amat, Thomas Eriksson +1
In this paper, we address the problem of optimizing signal constellations for strong phase noise. The problem is investigated by considering three optimization formulations, which…
Improving the Spectral Efficiency of Nonlinear Satellite Systems through Time-Frequency Packing and Advanced Processing
Amina Piemontese, Andrea Modenini, Giulio Colavolpe +1
We consider realistic satellite communications systems for broadband and broadcasting applications, based on frequency-division-multiplexed linear modulations, where spectral effic…
