First Pre-peak Ultraviolet Spectrum of a Tidal Disruption Event: A Fast Outflow Revealed Prior to Maximum Light in TDE2025aarm
Erica Hammerstein, Ryan Chornock, Jean Somalwar +32
The tidal disruption and eventual accretion of a star by a massive black hole can lead to the launching of outflows and winds that encode important information about the tidal disr…
Probing Millisecond Optical Timescales with Continuous-Readout Mode Observations from ZTF
Shar Daniels, Federica Bianco, Igor Andreoni +6
The subminute-timescale phase space is an underexplored regime of the optical sky. Sub-second optical observations are difficult to accomplish with traditional CCD exposure-readout…
Catching Disguised Transients with ASTRANet: Anomaly-Aware Spectroscopic Classification and Conformal Calibration
Argyro Sasli, Maojie Xu, Alexandra Junell +21
Time-domain surveys discover thousands of transients per year, but the spectroscopic identification of rare and physically peculiar objects remains rate-limited by closed-set class…
Multi-year Ground-Based Survey Photometry of Active Comet 103P/Hartley 2 and Centaur (2060) Chiron: A Tale of Two Comets in the Pre-LSST Era
Joseph Murtagh, Megan E. Schwamb, Michael S. P. Kelley +22
Comets and Centaurs trace the evolution of trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) into the inner solar system. Their activity reflects the interplay between volatile sublimation, dust dyna…
