On two optomechanical effects of laser-induced electrostriction in dielectric liquids
Ardian B. Gojani, Rasim Bejtullahu, Shigeru Obayashi
This paper presents electrostriction from the phenomenological perspective, and gives details on two mechanical effects arising from laser-matter interaction. Electrostriction is t…
Measurement sensitivity and resolution for background oriented schlieren during image recording
Ardian B. Gojani, Burim Kamishi, Shigeru Obayashi
Background oriented schlieren (BOS) visualization technique is examined by means of optical geometry. Two most important results are the calculation of the sensitivity and spatial…
Identification of discontinuities in plasma plume evolution
Ardian B. Gojani, Jahja Kokaj, Shigeru Obayashi
The ejection of material during laser ablation gives rise to the development of discontinuities in the ambient gas. Several of these discontinuities are observed and characterized,…
Assessment of some experimental and image analysis factors for background oriented schlieren measurements
Ardian B. Gojani, Shigeru Obayashi
Quantitative measurements of fluid flow properties can be achieved by background oriented schlieren. In this paper it is shown that this depends on several factors. Image quality i…
