A Thousand Earths: A Very Large Aperture, Ultralight Space Telescope Array for Atmospheric Biosignature Surveys
Daniel Apai, Tom D. Milster, Dae Wook Kim +4
An outstanding, multi-disciplinary goal of modern science is the study of the diversity of potentially Earth-like planets and the search for life in them. This goal requires a bold…
TDEM final report: Enhanced direct imaging exoplanet detection with astrometry mass determination
Eduardo Bendek, Ruslan Belikov, Olivier Guyon +6
This Final Report (FR) presents the results of the Enhanced direct imaging exoplanet detection with astrometry mass determination project, which was executed in support of NASA's E…
Simultaneous Exoplanet Characterization and deep wide-field imaging with a diffractive pupil telescope
Olivier Guyon, Josh A. Eisner, Roger Angel +12
High-precision astrometry can identify exoplanets and measure their orbits and masses, while coronagraphic imaging enables detailed characterization of their physical properties an…
High precision astrometry with a diffractive pupil telescope
Olivier Guyon, Eduardo A. Bendek, Thomas D. Milster +11
Astrometric detection and mass determination of Earth-mass exoplanets requires sub-microarcsec accuracy, which is theoretically possible with an imaging space telescope using field…
