OASIS High-Resolution Integral Field Spectroscopy of the SAURON Ellipticals and Lenticulars
R. McDermid, E. Emsellem, M. Cappellari +12
We present a summary of high-spatial resolution follow-up observations of the elliptical (E) and lenticular (S0) galaxies in the SAURON survey using the OASIS integral field spectr…
A SAURON look at galaxy bulges
J. Falcón-Barroso, R. Bacon, M. Bureau +8
Kinematic and population studies show that bulges are generally rotationally flattened systems similar to low-luminosity ellipticals. However, observations with state-of-the-art in…
SAURON dynamical modeling of NGC 2974
Davor Krajnovic, Michele Cappellari, Eric Emsellem +2
We present dynamical modeling of nearby E4 galaxy NGC 2974. The galaxy was observed with the integral-field spectrograph SAURON. An axisymmetric stellar dynamical model is construc…
Dynamical Modeling of SAURON Galaxies
M. Cappellari, R. C. E. van den Bosch, E. K. Verolme +11
We describe our program for the dynamical modeling of early-type galaxies observed with the panoramic integral-field spectrograph SAURON. We are using Schwarzschild's numerical orb…
A SAURON view of galaxies
E. K. Verolme, M. Cappellari, G. van de Ven +10
We have measured the two-dimensional kinematics and line-strength distributions of 72 representative nearby early-type galaxies, out to approximately one effective radius, with our…
