Stellar Velocity Profiles and Line-Strengths out to Four Effective Radii in the Early-Type Galaxy NGC 3379
A. Weijmans, M. Cappellari, P. T. de Zeeuw +6
We describe a new technique to measure stellar kinematics and line-strengths at large radii in nearby galaxies. Using the integral-field spectrograph SAURON as a 'photon-collector'…
Stellar kinematics in double-barred galaxies: the sigma-hollows
A. de Lorenzo-Cáceres, J. Falcón-Barroso, A. Vazdekis +1
We present SAURON integral-field stellar velocity and velocity dispersion maps for four double-barred early-type galaxies: NGC2859, NGC3941, NGC4725 and NGC5850. The presence of th…
The SAURON project - XII. Kinematic substructures in early-type galaxies: evidence for disks in fast rotators
Davor Krajnovic, R. Bacon, Michele Cappellari +10
[Abridged] We analysed two-dimensional maps of 48 early-type galaxies obtained with the SAURON and OASIS integral-field spectrographs using kinemetry, a generalisation of surface p…
The Einstein Cross: constraint on dark matter from stellar dynamics and gravitational lensing
Glenn van de Ven, Jesus Falcon-Barroso, Richard M. McDermid +3
[Abridged] We present two-dimensional line-of-sight stellar kinematics of the lens galaxy in the Einstein Cross, obtained with the GEMINI 8m telescope, using the GMOS integral-fiel…
