Probing Quasar Outflows with Intrinsic Narrow Absorption Lines
T. Misawa, M. Eracleous, J. C. Charlton +5
We present statistical and monitoring results of narrow absorption lines that are physically related to quasars (i.e., intrinsic NALs). We use Keck/HIRES spectra of 37 optically br…
Hubble Space Telescope Ultraviolet Spectroscopy of Fourteen Low-Redshift Quasars
Rajib Ganguly, Michael S. Brotherton, Nahum Arav +35
We present low-resolution ultraviolet spectra of 14 low redshift (z<0.8) quasars observed with HST/STIS as part of a Snap project to understand the relationship between quasar outf…
The Advantage of Increased Resolution in the Study of Quasar Absorption Systems
Anand Narayanan, Toru Misawa, Jane C. Charlton +1
We compare a new R = 120,000 spectrum of PG1634+706 (z_QSO = 1.337,m_V = 14.9) obtained with the HDS instrument on Subaru to a R = 45, 000 spectrum obtained previously with HIRES/K…
High-Resolution Absorption Spectroscopy of Multi-phase, High-Metallicity Gas Associated with the Luminous Quasar HE 0226-4110
Rajib Ganguly, Kenneth R. Sembach, Todd M. Tripp +2
We present FUSE and HST/STIS observations of the absorption line system near the emission redshift of the radio-quiet, X-ray bright quasar HE0226-4110 (z = 0.495, V=15.2). The spec…
