Remark on non-existence of self-similar solutions in 4+1 vacuum gravitational collapse
Piotr Bizoń, Arthur Wasserman
We give a very short proof that the vacuum Einstein equations in 4+1 dimensions have no cohomogeneity-two Bianchi IX continuously self-similar solutions.
Late-time tails of a self-gravitating massless scalar field, revisited
Piotr Bizoń, Tadeusz Chmaj, Andrzej Rostworowski
We discuss the nonlinear origin of the power-law tail in the long-time evolution of a spherically symmetric self-gravitating massless scalar field in even-dimensional spacetimes. U…
Late-time tails of a Yang-Mills field on Minkowski and Schwarzschild backgrounds
Piotr Bizoń, Tadeusz Chmaj, Andrzej Rostworowski
We study the late-time behavior of spherically symmetric solutions of the Yang-Mills equations on Minkowski and Schwarzschild backgrounds. Using nonlinear perturbation theory we sh…
Self-similar spherically symmetric wave maps coupled to gravity
Piotr Bizoń, Arthur Wasserman
We investigate spherically symmetric continuously self-similar (CSS) solutions in the SU(2) sigma model coupled to gravity. Using mixed numerical and analytical methods, we provide…
Gravitating Solitons and Hairy Black Holes
Piotr Bizoń
A brief review of recent research on soliton and black hole solutions of Einstein's equations with nonlinear field sources is presented and some open questions are pointed out.
