Identification and mitigation of narrow spectral artifacts that degrade searches for persistent gravitational waves in the first two observing runs of Advanced LIGO
P. B. Covas, A. Effler, E. Goetz +260
Searches are under way in Advanced LIGO and Virgo data for persistent gravitational waves from continuous sources, e.g. rapidly rotating galactic neutron stars, and stochastic sour…
Exploring the Sensitivity of Next Generation Gravitational Wave Detectors
B. P. Abbott, R. Abbott, T. D. Abbott +720
The second-generation of gravitational-wave detectors are just starting operation, and have already yielding their first detections. Research is now concentrated on how to maximize…
The Sensitivity of the Advanced LIGO Detectors at the Beginning of Gravitational Wave Astronomy
D. V. Martynov, E. D. Hall, B. P. Abbott +261
The Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) consists of two widely separated 4 km laser interferometers designed to detect gravitational waves from distant astro…
Narrow-band search of continuous gravitational-wave signals from Crab and Vela pulsars in Virgo VSR4 data
The LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Virgo Collaboration, J. Aasi +894
In this paper we present the results of a coherent narrow-band search for continuous gravitational-wave signals from the Crab and Vela pulsars conducted on Virgo VSR4 data. In orde…
