A Simulation Modeling Approach for Optimization of Storage Space Allocation in Container Terminal
Gamal Abd El-Nasser A. Said, El-Sayed M. El-Horbaty
Container handling problems at container terminals are NP-hard problems. This paper presents an approach using discrete-event simulation modeling to optimize solution for storage s…
Solving container terminals problems using computer-based modeling
Gamal Abd El-Nasser A. Said, Abeer M. Mahmoud, El-Sayed M. El-Horbaty
This paper addresses the applications of different techniques for solving container terminals problems. We have built a simulation model that can be used to analyze the performance…
Simulation and optimization of container terminal operations: a case study
Gamal Abd El-Nasser A. Said, Abeer M. Mahmoud, El-Sayed M. El-Horbaty
Container terminals are facing a set of interrelated problems. Container handling problems at container terminals are NP-hard problems. The docking time of container ships at the p…
A Comparative Study of Meta-heuristic Algorithms for Solving Quadratic Assignment Problem
Gamal Abd El-Nasser A. Said, Abeer M. Mahmoud, El-Sayed M. El-Horbaty
Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) is an NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, therefore, solving the QAP requires applying one or more of the meta-heuristic algorithms. This…
