Impact of atmospheric effects on the energy reconstruction of air showers observed by the surface detectors of the Pierre Auger Observatory
The Pierre Auger Collaboration
Atmospheric conditions, such as the pressure (P), temperature (T) or air density (), affect the development of extended air showers initiated by energetic cosmic rays…
Calibration of the Logarithmic-Periodic Dipole Antenna (LPDA) Radio Stations at the Pierre Auger Observatory using an Octocopter
The Pierre Auger Collaboration, A. Aab, P. Abreu +402
An in-situ calibration of a logarithmic periodic dipole antenna with a frequency coverage of 30 MHz to 80 MHz is performed. Such antennas are part of a radio station system used fo…
Identifying Clouds over the Pierre Auger Observatory using Infrared Satellite Data
Pierre Auger Collaboration
We describe a new method of identifying night-time clouds over the Pierre Auger Observatory using infrared data from the Imager instruments on the GOES-12 and GOES-13 satellites. W…
Atmospheric effects on extensive air showers observed with the Surface Detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory
The Pierre Auger Collaboration
Atmospheric parameters, such as pressure (P), temperature (T) and density, affect the development of extensive air showers initiated by energetic cosmic rays. We have studied the i…
