When A Standard Candle Flickers
Colleen A. Wilson-Hodge, Michael L. Cherry, Wayne H. Baumgartner +27
The Crab Nebula is the only hard X-ray source in the sky that is both bright enough and steady enough to be easily used as a standard candle. As a result, it has been used as a nor…
First Results from Fermi GBM Earth Occultation Monitoring: Observations of Soft Gamma-Ray Sources Above 100 keV
Gary L. Case, Michael L. Cherry, James C. Rodi +15
The NaI and BGO detectors on the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) on Fermi are now being used for long-term monitoring of the hard X-ray/low energy gamma-ray sky. Using the Earth occu…
Fermi Observations of GRB 090510: A Short Hard Gamma-Ray Burst with an Additional, Hard Power-Law Component from 10 keV to GeV Energies
The Fermi LAT, GBM Collaborations
We present detailed observations of the bright short-hard gamma-ray burst GRB 090510 made with the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) and Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board the Fermi o…
Fermi Large Area Telescope Constraints on the Gamma-ray Opacity of the Universe
The Fermi LAT, the GBM Collaboration, : +1
The Extragalactic Background Light (EBL) includes photons with wavelengths from ultraviolet to infrared, which are effective at attenuating gamma rays with energy above ~10 GeV dur…
