Second Generation Readout For Large Format Photon Counting Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detectors
Neelay Fruitwala, Paschal Strader, Gustavo Cancelo +10
We present the development of a second generation digital readout system for photon counting microwave kinetic inductance detector (MKID) arrays operating in the optical and near-I…
Low Threshold Acquisition controller for Skipper CCDs
Gustavo Cancelo, Claudio Chavez, Fernando Chierchie +10
The development of the Skipper Charge Coupled Devices (Skipper-CCDs) has been a major technological breakthrough for sensing very weak ionizing particles. The sensor allows to reac…
DARKNESS: A Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector Integral Field Spectrograph for High-Contrast Astronomy
Seth R. Meeker, Benjamin A. Mazin, Alex B. Walter +21
We present DARKNESS (the DARK-speckle Near-infrared Energy-resolving Superconducting Spectrophotometer), the first of several planned integral field spectrographs to use optical/ne…
Deep sub electron noise readout in CCD systems using digital filtering techniques
Gustavo Cancelo, Juan Estrada, Guillermo Fernandez Moroni +3
Scientific CCDs designed in thick high resistivity silicon (Si) are excellent detectors for astronomy, high energy and nuclear physics, and instrumentation. Many applications can b…
