Ground motion prediction at gravitational wave observatories using archival seismic data
Nikhil Mukund, Michael Coughlin, Jan Harms +13
Gravitational wave observatories have always been affected by tele-seismic earthquakes leading to a decrease in duty cycle and coincident observation time. In this analysis, we lev…
Magnetic coupling to the Advanced Virgo payloads and its impact on the low frequency sensitivity
A. Cirone, A. Chincarini, M. Neri +9
We study the electromagnetic coupling of the Advanced Virgo (AdV) Input Mirror Payload (IMP) in response to a slowly time-varying magnetic field. As the problem is not amenable to…
A standard siren measurement of the Hubble constant from GW170817 without the electromagnetic counterpart
M. Fishbach, R. Gray, I. Magaña Hernandez +316
We perform a statistical standard siren analysis of GW170817. Our analysis does not utilize knowledge of NGC 4993 as the unique host galaxy of the optical counterpart to GW170817.…
Calibration of Advanced Virgo and Reconstruction of the Gravitational Wave Signal h(t) during the Observing Run O2
Virgo Collaboration, F. Acernese, T. Adams +281
In August 2017, Advanced Virgo joined Advanced LIGO for the end of the O2 run, leading to the first gravitational waves detections with the three-detector network. This paper descr…
