Reply to: Three papers regarding the origin of GN-z11-flash
Linhua Jiang, Shu Wang, Bing Zhang +8
In Jiang et al., we detected a bright flash (hereafter GN-z11-flash) that appeared as compact continuum emission during our Keck MOSFIRE observations of the galaxy GN-z11 at z ~ 11…
"A more probable explanation" is still impossible to explain GN-z11-flash: in response to Steinhardt et al. (arXiv:2101.12738)
Linhua Jiang, Shu Wang, Bing Zhang +8
In Jiang et al. (2020), we reported a possible bright flash (hereafter GN-z11-flash) from a galaxy GN-z11 at z ~ 11. Recently, Steinhardt et al. (2021; arXiv:2101.12738) found 27 i…
A possible bright ultraviolet flash from a galaxy at redshift z ~ 11
Linhua Jiang, Shu Wang, Bing Zhang +8
In the optical sky, minutes-duration transients from cosmological distances are rare. Known objects that give rise to such transients include gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), the most lumi…
Evidence for GN-z11 as a luminous galaxy at redshift 10.957
Linhua Jiang, Nobunari Kashikawa, Shu Wang +9
GN-z11 was photometrically selected as a luminous star-forming galaxy candidate at redshift z > 10 based on Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging data. Follow-up HST near-infrared g…
